09-11-2005: Jettainer lands first ULD contract with US airline

Jettainer, a joint venture of Lufthansa Cargo and TrenStar Inc. has landed a five-year contract with US Airways for a sale and leaseback deal that furnishes ownership and administration of the airline's ULD fleet to Jettainer GmbH.

The airline thus becomes the first U.S. international carrier to outsource its ULD ownership and management.

Jettainer will manage the airline's entire ULD operations for a monthly fee which covers ULD supply chain management services including order management, repair and maintenance, tracking and tracing, account management and other fleet administration services.
