Jettainer’s customized ULD management outsourcing approach features four distinct phases:
assessment phase
We review the airline's ULD supply chain to understand its related objectives and processes and then work closely with our customers to determine the scope of the ULD management solution. Current needs and future opportunities are assessed and service level requirements are defined. Initial pricing is determined to analyze the economic feasibility of outsourcing and to develop a sound business case.
operational outsourcing phase
Jettainer takes over ULD management responsibility by acquiring the airline's ULDs, begins day-to-day management, supplies and repairs ULDs and introduces Jettware, our state-of-the art ULD tracking and management technology. Optimization of the carrier's individual processes and ULD fleet is initiated and pooling begins by getting access to ULDs of other Jettainer customers to cover ad hoc demand or to provide special ULDs.
standardization phase
Jettainer further optimizes an airline's individual ULD fleet with the objective of standardizing the overall ULD inventory of all customers. This maximizes ULD interchangeability and ensures the fleet efficiently meets the true demand of customer airlines, both in terms of size and ULD types. Each additional airline brought into the platform further reduces overall safety stock levels and increases asset utilization.
industry pooling phase
As Jettainer’s client base and geographical reach grows, we deepen our knowledge about worldwide ULD movements, seasonal and regional demand patterns from the operations we run for individual customers. We will use this knowledge to implement best practices across our entire network, forecast asset flows and implement a worldwide pool to which all participating airlines will have equal access at all times. Pool members will benefit from minimized positioning efforts, the highest level of ULD availability and a pay-per-use model.
